Last weekend, a special variant of beach volleyball was played in Rotterdam. In a temporary stadium, teams competed for the title of Queen of the Court. In this game, multiple teams play against each other, and teams are eliminated each time, until one team is the winner.

In a field of national and international top players, beach volleyball players Raïsa Schoon from Werkendam, together with her partner Katja Stam, managed to survive every round, which ultimately allowed them to be crowned ‘Queen of the Court’.

The next important tournaments for the Schoon-Stam team, and then the real Olympic beach volleyball, are coming up. At the highest level, there is first an Elite 16 tournament in Paris, a tournament they won last year. Then there is the World Championship in Mexico.
