Beach volleyball player Raïsa Schoon and her partner Katja Stam put down a world-class performance during the Beach Volleyball World Championship. In Tlaxcala, Mexico, they reached fifth position, a very nice performance in a very strong field of participants.
In the quarterfinals, the reigning world champion, the Brazilian team Eduarda Santas Lisboa (Duda) and Ana Patricia Silva Ramos was too strong for the Dutch women, who did excellent business for the world ranking. The Olympic qualification of Raïsa and Katja is also firmly in sight, especially after the beautiful bronze medal that the duo managed to win at the Elite 16 tournament in Paris, prior to the world championship.
