Raïsa Zonnemijn SchoonThis week, beach volleyball player Raïsa Schoon and her partner Katja Stam travel to Rome. The World Beach Volleyball Championships are being played in the beautiful Olympic Foro Italico in the Italian capital.
The Schoon-Stam team, as the leader of the world rankings, is also the first to be placed at this World Championship. A unique starting point for the young Werkendam player (20 years old), to participate in a senior world championship for the first time on this historic ground among the greats of the world.
The group matches will be played from next Friday, the teams that make it through the group will continue in a knockout system from Wednesday and Thursday after, the finals will then be played in the weekend.
